Also on 1 identity card only 1 ticket will be allowed to be booked. This rule applies for both online booking and booking at reservation counter. Also customer would need to provide one of the valid identity proofs and other details which railway staff may seek at the time of booking tatkal tickets.

Indian Railway Ticket in Multiple Languages: As of now, when you do railway ticket booking the details like PNR number, train no., coach/seat no. are in English language only. From July 1 onward railway will be furnishing these details in various different languages. This mean you can now have your railway ticket printed in language of your choice.

Suvidha Trains with Confirmed ticket: Indian Railways will run a new type of train, named "Suvidha". In this train only confirmed tickets will be granted. Thus there will be no waiting list or RAC.

Increase in Coach/Seats in Rajdhani/Shatabdi trains: Seat availability has always been the major issue, especially in trains running between stations of a popular route. To handle this situation, the railway in India has decided to increase the number of seats in trains by increasing more bogies.

No Concessional Ticket Without Aadhar Card: Many people book tickets under certain quota's like ladies, handicapped, student quota's to get a concession in fare. But many black marketeers of travel tickets are known to use these quotas to earn big money. To curb this tendency, railway has now made mandatory that quoting of Aadhar card number will be mandatory when claiming concession on railway tickets. If you have applied for aadhar card check aadhar card status here.

End of Flexi Fare: Railway introduces flexible fare scheme few months back where the fare was dynamic and kept on changing depending on availability of seats. This has been a major failure and railway has decided to done away with it.

Changes in Refund Rules: These days when you cancel e-ticket due to cancellation of train, you need file a TDR (ticket depository receipt) to the railway clerk to claim the refund. Now there is no need to do this. Also if you cancel your RAC ticket up to half and hour before the departure of train, your money will be refunded to you by deducting clerical charges.
