Here are some yummy snacks in train ideas

Potato Chips: These are easy to carry and tasty slices of, sometimes fried and sometimes non fried, potatoes. They come in different flavors and are equally liked among children and adults. While those suffering from diabetes should avoid them, they are rich in carbohydrates which provide instant energy.

Bhujia: One of the crispiest snack's made from spiced up besan (gram flour). Spices include moth dal, salt, red chilli, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, groundnut oil, etc. We recommend you buy "Bikaneri Bhujia," only. Bikaneri bhujia is original and it is the place where this snack is prepared best. You can either eat it individually or you can even fill it in burgers, take it with chapati's.

Samosa: These are triangular in shape. Basically fried cones or baked pastries filled with stuffing comprising of boiled potatoes, green chillies, peas, lentils. Of course there are many variations that exist. These days "Paneer Samosa," are famous. While they are fantastic hunger erasers, samosa's should be avoided if you have acidity or gastric trouble. Also, since they are deeply fried, they should be avoided during peak summer when temperatures are souring high.

Poha: Dehusked rice is beaten and flatten to make a poha. Actually it is available in market in packets. You can bring it and fry it adding tomatoes, chillies, peanuts, peas, and spices. It is easily digestible thus light on stomach. You can carry it in a tiffin (a lunch box) while traveling by train. Make sure to consume it within 6-7 hours after preparation since it may not taste good after that.

Bhelpuri: Perhaps the easiest snack to prepare, bhelpuri is made from puffed rice and comes in many variations like sev puri, dahi puri, sev papri chaat depending on what you add to the puffed rice. It is also known as Jhaal Muri in kolkata and Churmuri in Bangalore. Best thing about it is that you can prepare it instantly, and there is no limit to what you can add. People like adding fruits, potatoes, onions, and Bhujia to make it extra mouth watering.

A word of caution : Avoid taking any food item from unknown person during train travel. People are known to provide poisonous or toxic substances to make travelers unconscious in order to flew away with their valuables. Buy food items from railway kiosks and IRCTC food stalls only. For some trains type like Rajdhani, Shatabdi trains, you can make food choice while doing train ticket booking online.
